Count
Repeated lighting geometry inside supported vector PDFs is grouped into fixture families and counted deterministically. Every instance keeps its sheet and location.
Product
One family is one quantity and one decision. Everything in the product is arranged around that idea.

Not every fixture on the page belongs in the bid. Families are separated into new work, existing to remain, relocated, demolition, and unresolved — so the count you export is the count you are bidding.
Each suggestion arrives with its source attached — the fixture schedule, the legend, a prior confirmation on a related project, or a geometry ranking. Ranked suggestions never set a name on their own.
Review happens at the family level, not the symbol level. Confirm, pick another candidate, or leave it unresolved — an exact count with no name is a valid outcome.
Confirmed families are written to a naming ledger scoped to your firm. On the next plan set from the same designer, that decision shows up as evidence for the estimator to accept or override.
Families, counts, scope states, and sheet references leave as a structured takeoff your team can drop into the way it already prices work.
Scope
Not every fixture on the page belongs in the bid.
Remodel drawings carry existing work, relocated work, and demolition alongside new fixtures. A raw symbol count is not automatically the bid-scope count, and LumenTakeoff treats that as a first-class part of the takeoff rather than a footnote.
