Privacy Policy

Last updated October 28, 2026

We are finalizing this policy with our attorney. If it changes, we will post the new version here with a new date.

LumenTakeoff, operated by Parsa Tamadon and Shervin Shahriary ("LumenTakeoff", "we") runs this website and the LumenTakeoff app, takeoff and estimating software for electrical contractors (together, the "Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who receives it, and your choices.

What we collect on this website

  • Waitlist and questions: your work email and, if you add them, your company, your role and a message.
  • Pilot logs: when you log a pilot drawing set, your email, your firm, a label for the set, the engineer's name if you add it, timing and count figures, and your notes. No drawings are sent through this form.
  • Abuse protection: to stop automated sign-ups we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for a short time to limit how often a form can be sent.
  • Server logs: our website host keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses and browser details.

This website uses no advertising or analytics trackers and sets no cookies for them.

What we collect in the app

  • Account information: name, work email, company name, password (held by our authentication provider as a secure hash) and sign-in records.
  • Customer Data: drawings, schedules and estimates you upload. Drawings can contain names and contact details of architects, engineers and project owners printed in title blocks. We process these only to provide the Service.
  • Usage data: actions you run, credits and usage you spend, device and browser type, and IP address, kept in server logs.
  • Payment information: once paid plans open, our payment processor handles your card; we receive the payment status, card brand and last four digits, never the full card number.
  • Communications: messages you send us.

The app uses cookies only to keep you signed in and secure.

How we use it

To provide and secure the Service; to answer your waitlist request or question; to run the Lumen reviews you start; to support you; to measure and improve accuracy using de-identified, aggregated data; to send service notices; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Where your drawings go

Drawings you upload are stored on computers we operate or rent in the United States so the Service can count, review and price them. During the pilot, the app runs on a computer we operate and is reached over an encrypted tunnel provided by ngrok, Inc., so your requests and uploads pass through ngrok on their way to us. When you start a Lumen action (a Lumen review, check or message), our AI provider, Anthropic, PBC, receives what that action needs: images of the sheets involved, the related counts, schedule and specification text, your messages to Lumen, and the job and firm data Lumen looks up to answer you, such as counts, rates, estimates and files you attach. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic may not use that data to train its models. Counting by our own engine sends nothing to Anthropic. We do not send your drawings to anyone else. You can delete a job's drawing files at any time, and ask us to delete everything about a job or your account.

Who receives it

These service providers act under contracts that limit their use of the data to providing services to us:

  • Vercel Inc. hosts this website and keeps its server logs.
  • Formspree, Inc. receives waitlist, question and pilot-log submissions and delivers them to us by email.
  • Anthropic, PBC, our AI provider, receives the data described above, only when you start a Lumen action.
  • ngrok, Inc. provides the encrypted tunnel to the pilot app, so your requests and uploads pass through it.
  • Supabase, Inc., our authentication provider in the United States, holds account details and sign-in records, sends sign-in emails, and keeps one summary row per project (project name, engineer, job number, status, sheets in scope, fixture families and counts, and dates). It receives no drawings.
  • Stripe, Inc., our payment processor, once card payments open.
  • Google LLC serves the fonts on the app's pages, so it receives your IP address and browser details when an app page loads.

We may also share information when the law requires it or to protect rights and safety, and with a buyer or successor in a merger or sale, who will be bound by this policy.

How long we keep it

  • Waitlist, questions and pilot logs: until you ask us to remove them, or until we no longer need them to contact you about LumenTakeoff.
  • Account information: while your account is open, then up to 12 months.
  • Customer Data: deleted within 60 days after you close your account, except records the law requires us to keep. Deleting a job in the app removes its drawing files, rendered sheets and exports; ask us and we will delete everything else about that job within 60 days. Copies in backups are deleted when those backups expire.
  • What your firm's symbol library learned (fixture names and symbol shapes) stays with your firm's account until you close it; after that we keep only de-identified data that no longer identifies you or a project.
  • Credit records and invoices: as tax law requires, typically seven years.

Security

We encrypt data in transit, limit access to the people who need it, and use your drawings in no service other than those listed above. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.

Your choices and rights

You may ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to be removed from the waitlist, by emailing sshahriary@lumentakeoff.com. You may close your account at any time. If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to have it deleted or corrected, and to opt out of its sale or sharing; we do not sell or share it. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. You may use an authorized agent, and we will verify a request before acting on it.

Do Not Track

We do not track you across other websites, and this website uses no advertising or analytics trackers, so we treat every visit the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Children

The Service is for businesses. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We will post any change here with a new date. If a change is material, we will also tell account holders by email or in the app before it takes effect.
