Fixture counts from PDF plans
LumenTakeoff reads the geometry inside supported vector PDFs. Every repeated lighting symbol is grouped into a fixture family and counted exactly, and each instance keeps its sheet and location.
A lighting fixture takeoff built from the drawing itself: exact counts by fixture family, bid scope kept separate, and every count reviewed before it reaches the estimate.
What the takeoff covers
LumenTakeoff reads the geometry inside supported vector PDFs. Every repeated lighting symbol is grouped into a fixture family and counted exactly, and each instance keeps its sheet and location.
Remodel sheets carry existing, relocated and demolished fixtures next to new work. Scope is part of the takeoff, so existing-to-remain fixtures stay out of the bid count instead of being counted as new.
The fixture schedule, the legend and your firm's earlier confirmations sit beside each family, so you can check a count against the drawing before it goes into the bid.
Lumen goes over the counts and narrows the list to the families that need a decision. You confirm a family once, and that one decision covers every instance on every sheet.
Beyond lighting
Lighting is where LumenTakeoff started, not where it stops. Devices are counted from the plan set the same way, conduit and wire go into the same bid, and the estimate and proposal export from there.
Questions
It counts the light fixtures on an electrical plan set and groups them by fixture type, so an estimator can price each type. LumenTakeoff does this from the geometry inside supported vector PDFs: every repeated lighting symbol becomes a fixture family with an exact count and the sheets it appears on.
Yes, from supported vector PDF plan sets. Scanned and raster sheets don't carry the same geometry, and LumenTakeoff doesn't claim to read every one of them.
Scope is tracked as part of the takeoff. Existing-to-remain fixtures are held out of the bid count, and where the drawing doesn't settle the scope, the family is marked for an estimator's decision instead of being guessed.
No. The machine counts and the estimator decides. Counting is exact where the drawing supports it; fixture names and scope calls stay with the estimator, and Lumen narrows the review to the families that need one.
Yes. Devices are counted from the plan set the same way as fixtures, and conduit and wire go into the same bid.
Fixture families, counts, scope states and sheet references as a structured takeoff, with estimate and proposal export.
